CMU OmniClear supports the first 30-year offshore RMB corporate bond

06 Aug 2025
CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is pleased to announce the successful issuance of offshore renminbi-denominated bonds by Chubb INA Holdings LLC (Chubb) in Hong Kong. The issuance comprises three tranches of RMB 1 billion 5-year, RMB 1.5 billion 10-year and RMB 2 billion 30-year bonds, totalling RMB 4.5 billion. This issuance was smoothly cleared and settled in the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) on 6 August 2025.

Notably, this marks Chubb’s debut in multi-tenor dim sum bond issuance, with the 30-year tranche being the first dim sum corporate bond of this tenor. The issuance was well received by global investors, reflecting their strong appetite for high-quality, long-tenor dim sum bonds.

CMU OmniClear congratulates Chubb on this successful issuance and acknowledges the Bank of China for serving as the sole Chinese joint global coordinator for this landmark arrangement. Furthermore, the issuance was supported by the U.S. withholding tax administration services provided in collaboration with BNY Mellon to ensure compliance with U.S. tax withholding requirements. CMU’s collateralised lending service was also utilised to ensure liquidity in the primary issuance delivery process.

We look forward to additional dim sum bond issuances of various tenors in Hong Kong from a diversified global issuer base, thereby enriching the offshore renminbi product offerings. CMU OmniClear is committed to continuously enhancing its support for bond market development.
