CMU OmniClear supports the world’s largest digital bond issuance by HKMC
CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) is pleased to announce that it has successfully supported the world’s largest digital bond issuance to date by The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited (HKMC).
The issuance comprises three tranches of RMB3 billion 3-year, HK$6 billion 2-year and HK$2.5 billion 5-year bonds. The bonds were successfully cleared and settled through the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) today (15 June), also marking HKMC’s inaugural digital bond issuance.
CMU OmniClear congratulates HKMC on achieving this milestone via CMU, which highlights our robust capabilities in facilitating digital bond issuances in multiple currencies.
Since our establishment in October 2024, CMU OmniClear has successfully supported a diverse range of global issuers in their digital bond issuances, facilitating fundraising equivalent to HK$37.1 billion. We are currently developing our digital asset platform as a further step to position Hong Kong as a global hub for digital asset innovation.
