CMU OmniClear supports the world’s largest digital green bond issuance by the HKSAR Government
CMU OmniClear Limited (CMU OmniClear) announced today (29 September) that it has successfully supported the world’s largest digital green bond issuance to date by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (the HKSAR Government), with a total issuance size of about HK$20 billion equivalent.
Details of the multi-currency issuance are as follows:
The bonds – issued under the Government Sustainable Bond Programme – were successfully cleared and settled through the Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) today, which highlights our robust capabilities in facilitating digital bond issuances in multiple currencies. Alongside traditional settlement and tokenised central bank money rails, tokenised deposits were integrated as an additional settlement option in the primary issuance of the Hong Kong dollar tranche, marking a further step towards a more integrated digital asset ecosystem.

- HK$5.5 billion 2-year tranche
- RMB7.5 billion 5-year tranche
- US$200 million 3-year tranche
- EUR450 million 4-year tranche
